Welcome! Boarded by 20th Street, 27th Street, Howard Avenue and Guilford Avenue, Old Goucher is a community with a diverse mix of residents, non-profit organizations, professional businesses and retail shops.

The name, Old Goucher, refers to the historic buildings that once housed the Goucher College Campus in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Reverend John F. Goucher founded the Woman’s College of Baltimore in 1885 as a continuation of the centennial celebration of the Lovely Lane United Methodist Church. The school moved to its current location in Towson in the 1940’s, but has since made an effort to re-establish itself in the Baltimore City community. The Twenty-two of the original Goucher buildings still stand today.

Old Goucher is known for its variety of ethnic restaurants and shops and its Victorian architecture. The neighborhood has one park, two playgrounds, one library, 6 schools, 14 churches, 2500 residents and over 400 businesses.
